Kensuke Tsukanaka interview by Siliconera, Baten Kaitos 3?
Siliconera has recently interviewed Kensuke Tsukanaka and asked for a possible future appearance of Baten Kaitos, in particular in the future Project X Zone 2.
Some enthusiasts have therefore created a petition for a Baten Kaitos 3.
Project X-Zone 2 director says we should talk to Namco about more Baten Kaitos
“So, do you remember that KOS-MOS and T-elos, from Xenosaga, were in the first Project X Zone game? We didn’t include them just because Monolith Soft was developing Project X Zone, we put them in there because there were so many fans of their games on the team, and that they happened to make sense for the world of the game.
“The reason there’s not Baten Kaitos characters in the story is because they just didn’t seem to fit in anywhere. As for [Baten Kaitos] itself outside of Project X Zone, well, I can’t really say much about that yet, but I think we need some substantial feedback from fans before moving forward with a project like that. What do they want to see from it? What platform do they want to see it on? If we can gather more voices …

Nearly a Year's Worth of Updates!
That's right folks, it's been 11 months since the Wiki's last official update! Don't mistake this for stagnation though. Since January of last year we've reached twice the number of articles, have developed or completed entire sections of the Wiki, and our database is steadily growing and improving! Let me break down what's new:
- Enemies
- Our coverage of Origins Enemies went from one of the least developed portions of the Wiki to probably the most developed earlier this year. With fantastic transcription help from BenoitRen of the Baten Kaitos Forum and images from Lleb of baten-kaitos-origins.com, we now have the full descriptions and stats of every enemy from Baten Kaitos Origins; check them out over here! Additionally, we are continuing to c…
What should I talk about really?
I know this hasn't been updated in quite a while, and I sincerely apologize...
A-NY-WAY...I had this wild idea of "What if Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean had better known Voice Actors, so I came up with my own BKEWATLO Voice Cast.

New Concept Art and Interview from Monolith Soft and Yasuyuki Honne
Near the beginning of the month, the website of Baten Kaitos series co-developer Monolith Soft was updated with job openings for its Kyoto branch and possible concept art for an unrevealed upcoming 3DS game. The concept art released was illustrated by Baten Kaitos series co-designer and lead artist Yasuyuki Honne[1].
Additionally, the latest in the company's series of internal interviews has been released, this time with Kyoto studio staff[2]. Honne's portions are translated below (courtesy of NeoGAF[3]:
Monolith Soft's Next Major RPG Revealed for WiiU
From Nintendo of America's PR email regarding this morning's Nintendo Direct conference:
A New Game from Monolith Soft: Tetsuya Takahashi and the team at Monolith Soft that worked on Xenoblade for Wii are working on a new game. A video trailer for the game was shown in the Nintendo Direct.'[1]
From Nintendo of America's YouTube channel as seen during the conference:
Pretty exciting! This will be Monolith Soft's WiiU debut and Tetsuya Takahashi's next major project. No word on whether any major Baten Kaitos staff are involved, though given Baten Kaitos Origins lead writer Koh Kojima's major involvement in Xenoblade Chronicles, I wouldn't be surprised to see him return.
Updates for the New Year
Hello all and welcome to 2013! A lot has happened on the Wiki in the last month and a half, including a fantastic milestone to bring us into the New Year.
- Article/Readership Milestones
- The absolute, most important update today: on December 31, 2012 the Baten Kaitos Wiki reached 1000 pages! This is a major milestone and I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed to that total (notably ViniciusFernandes who helped us to achieve this before the year ended). In addition, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6 the Wiki logged a record 7503 page views. (It's also worth mentioning that this number was blown out of the water Dec. 19 - Dec. 25 with 19600 page views, but this was unique to having a Spotlight, which you can read about below.) A big thank you to all o…
Looking forward to the new year
There are only 2 days left in 2012. I'm excited for the new year! I already have plans for New Year's Eve, I'm gonna see "The Hobbit". Depending on what time I get back I might spend the night at G-Ma's place.
Previous Headlines: Famitsu Poll, Xenoblade, and Concept Art from Monolith Soft and Yasuyuki Honne
The Wiki will now relay news related to the Baten Kaitos series through blog posts. This is a list of all prior headlines.
- June 15, 2011
Following on the news of May 19, 2010 (see below), Monolith Soft's website is updated with new job openings and with them, the revelation of the finished version of the image that Baten Kaitos co-designer Yasuyuki Honne was previously seen working on. There is some similarity in art style with that of the Baten Kaitos series (though less than originally seeming) and some have also speculated that the image could be portraying Diadem on Earth.

Holiday Updates
Hello everyone! It's been forever and we have a few exciting updates to share with our readers.
- Article/Readership Milestones
- First of all, I’m very happy to announce that the Baten Kaitos Wiki has reached 750 articles! That’s three-fourths of the way to 1000! In addition, from Nov. 10 to Nov. 16 the Wiki logged a record 7007 page views. Thank you to all of our contributors and readers!
- Holiday Theme
- As we move toward the holidays, I hope you all enjoy our seasonal theme, appropriately chilly for any fellow hemispheric northerners (sorry Eltaire :p ). If you can, we’d love it if you’d take a moment to check out our featured article, Wazn, as well as our featured image gallery, holiday illustrations by Yasuyuki Honne.

Achievements, Administration, + Update on an Affiliate Wiki
Hello everyone! We have a few updates to tell you about today.
First of all, I'd like to introduce a new Administrator on the Wiki, Eltaire. Eltaire is currently recording an LP of Eternal Wings that you can watch here and has been kind enough to offer to provide Magnus images in the future. (I'd also like to thank Esus of the Baten Kaitos Forum for providing some of the high-quality Magnus images already uploaded.)
Second, at Eltaire's recommendation, the two of us have been customizing the Achievement badges users can earn for editing to match a Baten Kaitos theme. We hope you'll join us in editing and discover some of these badges. ;)
And finally, the Baten Kaitos Wiki will no longer be an Affiliate of the Excite Wiki. This partnership was…
Kalas Overhaul
Hello again everyone!
I have currently focused my attention on Battle Magnus pertaining to Kalas specifically at this point, to get that rounded out and complete (However I'll only add up to where I am in the game -- which is currently the Lava Caves). I was thinking, as the article is getting quite large for Kalas, that maybe the equipment (Armor, Head, Shield) should be placed in a three column table? That way the items can be listed in once section and be easily accessible for whomever wishes to browse through and click the links to the individual pages.
Thoughts?
Update to Magnus Template
Hey All!
Just wanted to let you know that I have made a minor update to the Eternal Wings Magnus Template to show viewers where the particular Magnus can be found. I am currently working on the weapon Magnus, starting with Kalas. Once I have done this, I shall move on to the other characters.
I will mainly be working on articles related to Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, but will also QA other articles where possible.
Article and Image Milestones + New Affiliate!
We have a threefold update today. First, the Baten Kaitos Wiki is proud to now be partnered with the Magical Wiki, a Wiki devoted to Magical Starsign and Vacation, both created by fellow first-party Nintendo developer, Brownie Brown. Thanks go to Vlax-dono for reaching out to the Baten Kaitos Wiki.
Second and third, the Baten Kaitos Wiki has reached a milestone in our number of articles and images. Our article count has now surpassed 600 (thanks to new Magnus being added) and the number of images has reached a whopping 1000! Thank you to everyone who's contributed!
News, Magnus, and a New Affiliate
There's a few updates to report on today. First, the Baten Kaitos Wiki will now bring you updates via blog posts, like this one. Updates will still appear here on the main page. Secondly, Battle Magnus from Eternal Wings are still being uploaded. We're up to 36 currently (which can be seen here), and, like before, any images of Magnus you may have would be very much appreciated. And thirdly and most importantly, the Baten Kaitos Wiki has partnered with a Wiki devoted to a fellow Tri-Crescendo developed RPG, the Eternal Sonata Wiki. I encourage you to head over there and check it out!
Previous Updates
The Baten Kaitos Wiki will now let the community know about what's new through blog posts. This post lists all older Wiki updates from before we started using the blog feature:
- March 4, 2012: Focusing on Magnus
It's been a while since the last update here. It's not without a reason though as there hasn't been any big activity recently. Right now, I have some time and I'm working on creating pages for Battle Magnus from Eternal Wings. We have 16 currently (which can be seen here), but there's hundreds more to go. The number of Magnus we have images available for is very limited, so if you have any Magnus images or want to help out with taking new images, please let me know.
- May 24 2011: Article Milestone and Affiliate
With the creation of pages…
Wish there were more people
It would be nice if more people knew or cared about this wiki, haha even though its kind ave been nice to have lay of the land to edit anything amd everything. I guess I took such a liking to this series even before I owned one of the game.
New Administration
Hello Baten Kaitos Wiki community, my name is Revitalizer. Following the lack of objections from the Baten Kaitos Wiki community after this blog post (linked to from the front page), posted on January 26, informing the community of my intent to a adopt this Wiki, I have been granted an adoption by Wikia Help member Brandon Rhea. I intend to continue to build upon the impressive work of and work with various others editors, such as Ryonslaught, who came before me. I’m hoping everyone can bring a different ability to the table to contribute to this Wiki; personally, I see myself as being good with organization, but having a limited understanding of the more technical aspects of Wikia’s features, therefore I look forward to learning and shari…
Revival
Hello Baten Kaitos Wiki community. As you may know, this Wiki's administrator has been inactive for some time now. Without his efforts, we are unable to perform administrative processes (such as deleting repeat pages or reorganizing). I'm going to apply for an adoption of this Wiki so we can better care for it. I know I haven't been editing here for very long, but I AM comitted to making this a more valuable community resource. If you object to me applying, please share your thoughts here or in the forum. Thank you for reading this message, I hope we can continually improve this Wiki in the future.
