A Human is a type of living thing in World of Baten Kaitos. Similar in appearance and role to humans in the real-world, Humans in the world of Baten Kaitos in different locations and ages through history have developed Wings of the Heart, a proficiency with Magic, as well as other skills including farming (of Plants), ranching (of Animals), and skills in battle (again one another or in defense of Monsters, which are predatory towards Humans). Humans settlements can be found on most islands in the modern world, with a few notable exceptions being the Celestial Alps, Nekkar, and Greater Celestial River.
Humans play the single most important role of any living things in the narrative of the Baten Kaitos series. Although the player controls a Guardian Spirit in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and the spirit form of Marno in Baten Kaitos Origins, all nine members of the party are at least partially human with, one being a Godcraft (formerly Human), one being part Machina, and one being part Magnus.
