The Matar Highlands is large area of undisturbed and tropical highland wilderness within a valley located in the Age of the Gods. It is where the Heartfall Rain falls which quickly drains the life of a person caught in a shower; travellers in Matar must always be aware of a shelter from the rain before the rains begin to fall. The Hearteater is fought here and is also where the White Dragon is first seen chronologically in the series.
